Welcome to Kua`Aina. The best burger joint in the whole of TDR. Yes, yes. The best place to get a burger in the whole of TDR is not owned by Disney. Anyone surprised? No one!!? The nerve!!!
Food in the parks can range from a complete waste of money to really good. Really good food in the parks normally equates to a bunch of ￥ disappearing into a black hole. Black hole, in this case, equates to a safe deposit box in some prestigious bank with a 6 lettered name, starting with the letter M. In the US parks, one could find value. When Mickey decided to build a vacation home in the land of the rising sun, he donned a yukata, yielded his samurai sword and stabbed the word “value” in the gut. That is why, many times, I am thankful for this shopping mall in the resort called Ikspiari. Kua`Aina is one of my favorite spots in Ikspiari.
Very few things can beat a nice, juicy burger. Kua’Aina’s burger is definitely juicy. The onion rings are exquisite and the fries have a beautiful spice to them that makes me wanna get up and do the Macarena. For those old enough, I am pretty sure you’ve heard that wonderfully written song and seen the cheesy dance that accompanies it. I’m pretty sure you’ve done it once in your life too. Come on, don’t lie to me. You have, haven’t ya?
My wife and I would normally order just one set of 1/3 lb burger and the Crispy Finger Chicken to share. With that set, you get a burger, fries, onion rings and a drink. She will normally get a flavored drink that comes with the set and I will ask for a free cup of water. The Crispy Finger Chicken is a must for us every time we visit Kua’Aina. We love that dish. KFC’s 5 piece chicken nuggets cost 380 yen in this country and 6 pieces of Crispy Finger Chicken from Kua’Aina cost 350 yen. There is no comparison. It’s like Mike Tyson fighting Barry Manilow. Ding Ding Ding!!! Kua’Aina’s poultry comes out victorious. A delicious meal for two, under 2000￥.
If we still wanna pig out after that, we would order pancakes for dessert. That would definitely hit the spot. Nap time normally comes after that, so beware with this one. Although, if you ever need a nap and you are in TDS for the day, head to Big Band Beat. Comfy chairs, nice air conditioning and a mediocre show. Perfect!!!
Kua’Aina is well worth the escape from the hustle and bustle of the parks. It has the best burgers that I’ve tried in TDR and it fills you up. For the portion and quality of food you get, Kua’Aina is definitely more worth it than a lot of eating establishments in the parks.
KM gives this restaurant an 8/10.
