It’s been a while since I’ve updated this blog. It’s been a crazy few months with me embarking on a journey to get my Bachelor’s degree and I also recently found out that I’m going to be a father for the second time. Excuses, excuses. Get with the program, Hayatt! Hait!
I apologize for leaving you guys hanging, but no matter what I do, I can’t run away from my love of Disney and food! So here we go. Another restaurant review. This time, we’ve got the almost always packed, Plaza Restaurant.
Plaza Restaurant can get packed. Sometimes, during lunch and dinner, you can see people sitting on the floor having their meals. No kidding. However, if you are willing to wait, Plaza Restaurant has ample seating arrangements. You just got to look for someone who’s gonna finish their food and stalk their table. Be a vulture!
Why is this place so packed? The food must be great then. Hmmm, how can I put this nicely? SupercalefragilisticDISGUSTINGLYATROCIOUS! I’m sorry, but there’s no way around it. Food here is not good at all. You can get better value at a convenience store with microwaveable food, here in Japan. It’s cheaper than a lot of other eating establishments in Tokyo Disneyland, but if you are like me and feel that food is part of the Magic in The Happiest Place on Earth, head somewhere else. Buy an Onigiri (Japanese Rice Ball) and eat it on a bench anywhere in the park. You’ll have a better experience and you won’t feel like you got ripped off after your meal.
So, why do people still pack this place? I have a few theories.
1) Close to the entrance and centrally located.
2) In the winter time, a plate of hot rice with anything is good.
3) Some of the food looks cute.
4) It has one of the highest seating capacity.
5) Mickey Eggs.
There you have it. My first post after a bit of time off from this blog. I’m back! In all seriousness, if you are ever in TDL and are hungry, there are a lot of other places that have great food. Plaza Restaurant isn’t one of those places. Taste, not good. Value, none. Experience, bad. I will only head to Plaza Restaurant if I’m nearby, crazy hungry and it’s super cold. All three reasons have to be in unison for me to order a meal in this restaurant. Or, if I broke my leg near the restaurant and I want to get a seat. Oh wait! I will also head to this restaurant if my daughter requests to have a Mickey Egg. Other than those reasons stated above, I’m staying away.
KM gives Plaza Restaurant a 2/10. A point each for loads of seating available and Mickey Eggs.
